Love Messages
The Celebration of Sign Language Literacy: Love Messages is an American Sign Language (ASL) and International Sign (IS) competition open to any and all Deaf individuals up to age 21. Participants are invited to create original horizontal video submissions in ASL or IS, centered around the theme of love.

This global competition provides a platform to showcase creativity, celebrate the beauty of signed languages, and take pride in self-expression. Submissions can be any of three lengths: 14 seconds, 43 seconds, or 1 minute and 43 seconds.

Top contestants will have the chance to win prize money and exclusive BU swag! Winners will be announced in April.

Why should I participate?
We aim to expand the inventory of signed literature, showcasing brilliance and beautiful compositions that deserve to be seen and celebrated. Your contribution helps bring unique stories to light and enrich the canon of signed language literature.
How do I submit my video?
Please upload your video to WeTransfer or YouTube and post the link below. If you prefer an alternative method, we accept it as long as the video is accessible.
Do I need permission to submit?
Yes, you must have permission from your guardian. Teachers only need to tick the box below to confirm that students have video/image releases.
Can I submit my submission by myself?
Yes, you can. However, the guardian permission policy still applies. Please fill out the form and email it to us to confirm consent.
Does this cost anything?
No. There are no expenses for participants. The competition is free!

We follow the number of letters in I (1) LOVE (4) YOU (3).
