All of our courses are taught in ASL with interpreters as needed.
Masters Degree in Deaf Education
The Ed.M. in Deaf Education is a multilingual ASL/English program with flexible options to meet your goals. All applicants are automatically considered for scholarships. International students are welcome.
Deaf Educator License
A multilingual ASL/English curriculum that prepares teachers of the deaf and leads to a pre-K to 12 Teacher of the Deaf license in Massachusetts (which is reciprocal with all other states in the US).

Dual License
Earn dual licensure—everything offered in the Deaf Education Licensure program, plus a second license in either Early Childhood Education or Teaching DeafDisabled Students.

Research, Leadership, Advocacy
The Ed.M. program at the Deaf Center is designed to prepare researchers, leaders, and advocates focused on language access for deaf children. This is also a great option for educators who do not need a license but want additional graduate training in Deaf Education.

Extremely flexible course requirements. Two required courses (Professional Seminar in Deaf Education, Research Methods), with the remainder chosen in consultation with an advisor.

Doctoral Studies
Doctoral students work closely with faculty members whose research aligns with your interests. Our faculty are leaders in fields such as language access, sign language acquisition, and deaf education, and are affiliated with our Ph.D. programs in in Education Studies, and Speech Language Hearing Sciences.

Designed for individuals with prior research experience who are committed to pursuing advanced careers in educational research. This program equips scholars with the expertise to conduct impactful, independent research in areas critical to education and language access for deaf children.
Speech Language Hearing Sciences
Designed for individuals with prior research experience who are committed to advancing the study of language learning and use. This program equips scholars with the tools to conduct independent, impactful research in areas such as sign language acquisition, processing, and bilingualism.
