Resources and Datasets

We have developed a number of resources to support research and data collection for sign language. Check out what we offer!

ASL-LEX

ASL-LEX is a lexical database featuring over 2,700 ASL signs, offering detailed information about each sign's form and structure. The interactive visualization allows users to explore the rich vocabulary of ASL.  Come explore the ASL lexicon!

SignTag

SignTag is software that enables researchers to quickly collect videos of people producing signs, segment those videos, and annotate what is being signed.

ASL-PLAY

ASL-PLAY is a fully annotated dataset featuring 24 parent-child interactions with deaf children aged 9 to 70 months. It captures real-life play sessions, coding ASL signs, attention-getting strategies, and visual attention from both parents and children.

ASL-CDI

A vocabulary assessment designed for parents of children aged 8 to 60 months. By completing this checklist, families can track their child's ASL development and compare it to established norms to determine if their vocabulary is on track.

SEM-LEX

Sem-Lex is a large dataset of over 84,000 ASL sign videos, recorded from a diverse group of Deaf signers. It’s designed to help train computers to recognize ASL, paving the way for more inclusive technology for sign language users.

Other ASL Assessments

We are hard at work on a few new assessments, including a vocabulary test for children 20-60 months old, and a morphosyntax test for school aged children. We'll let you know when they're available!
